Sergei Valukhov has several years of experience in information security and compliance. From 2023 to the present, they have been working as the Head of IT Security and Compliance at Ververica, the original creators of Apache Flink®. Prior to this, from 2020 to 2023, Sergei worked as an Information Security Officer in the Global IT Security Team at Arowana Capital, where they completed various risk assessments and developed and enforced global IT security standards. From 2015 to 2020, they were an Information Security Manager at Rosneft, where they developed information security policies, conducted threat modeling and risk management activities, and evaluated application platforms. Sergei Valukhov obtained their specialist degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from the Institute of Cryptography, Telecommunications and Computer Science, where they studied from 2001 to 2006.
In addition to their formal education, Sergei has also obtained several certifications. These certifications include the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA, obtained in April 2020. Sergei also holds the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification from Offensive Security, obtained in August 2019. Sergei has the IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from AXELOS Global Best Practice, acquired in March 2017. Sergei obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in December 2016. Sergei also holds the Certification in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA, obtained in December 2019, and the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, obtained in December 2017. Additionally, Sergei obtained the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council, although the month and year of acquisition are not provided.
