Steve Kiser

General Partner at Veteran Ventures Capital

Steve Kiser has had a long and impressive career in the military and defense industry. Steve is currently the Founder and Director of KDS Insights and General Partner of Veteran Ventures Capital. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2021, they were the Vice President of Engineering and Analysis at Valiant Integrated Services, where they were responsible for 400+ personnel and a $3 billion portfolio. Steve was also the Senior Program Manager at Cubic Global Defense from 2017 to 2021, and was the lead author and capture manager for Cubic's successful bid for the $900M Joint Test & Evaluation Program. From 2011 to 2017, Steve was a Senior Innovation Analyst for US Pacific Command, authoring 26 successful proposals and obtaining nearly $104M in innovation-related funds. Steve was also the Director of Federal Programs and Regional Sales Manager at EnerNOC from 2010 to 2011, and the Special Assistant to the Chairman at the Joint Staff (Chairman's Action Group) from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, Steve was the Executive Assistant at the Joint Staff from 2009 to 2008, and the Defense Chief of the Iraq Threat Finance Cell from 2008 to 2008.

Steve Kiser received their Bachelor of Science in both Political Science and General Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy between 1986 and 1990. Steve then went on to receive their Masters in Asian Politics & Futures Studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa between 1995 and 1997. Finally, they earned their PhD in Policy Analysis from Pardee RAND Graduate School between 2001 and 2004.
