Larry Mullins

Larry A. Mullins, DHA, LFACHE, is former president and chief executive officer of Samaritan Health Services. During his 25 years with Samaritan, he served in many roles, the first being chief executive officer for Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. In 2016, he founded Samaritan Solutions Institute and became its Chief Executive Officer in early 2018.

Dr. Mullins received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, a master’s degree from Northern Arizona University, and a Doctor of Health Administration degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He was awarded an honorary degree from Linn Benton Community College in 2007 and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Western University of Health Sciences in 2008. He was an Adjunct Faculty Member in the College of Health & Human Sciences at Oregon State University and served on the Leadership Council of the College of Health and Human Services at Northern Arizona University. He was a Professorial Lecturer at George Washington University in the Department of Health Services Management and Leadership. His doctoral dissertation was on organizational change and crisis leadership. He has published articles on integrated health networks, healthcare reform, and hospital/physician relations.

A veteran of the US Marine Corps, Dr. Mullins served in South Vietnam with the 26th Marine Regiment and the 1st Marine Division.
