Ben Hendershot has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the construction industry. Ben began their career as a Carpenter at IGW Construction in 2002 and later worked for Premiere Custom Designs LLC, ReTouch, and Construction and Planning Services LLC in similar positions. In 2011, Ben interned at the National Association of Home Builders, where they studied home building issues and legislation. Ben joined the United States Marine Corps in 2004 and served in different roles, including 1st Battalion 7th Marines - Infantry and 3rd FAST - Infantry, participating in operations such as Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Desert Mirage. After their military service, Ben worked as a Construction Manager at the Harry S. Truman Coordinating Council and Summit Custom Homes. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of National Expansion at Veterans Community Project.

Ben Hendershot began their education in 2002 when they attended Mill Creek Vocational School and obtained a degree in Building Trades. Ben then continued their education from 2008 to 2010 at Johnson County Community College, although their degree and field of study are unspecified. Following this, they attended Pittsburg State University from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Technology with a focus on Construction Management and Residential Emphasis.

In addition to their formal education, Ben also obtained several certifications. In May 2012, they became a Certified Green Professional through the Home Builders Institute. Ben also achieved a Residential Construction Superintendent Designation from the same institution in December 2011. However, the exact timelines for obtaining their Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification from the American Concrete Institute and their OSHA 30 Hour certification from OSHA are unknown.
