Veterans Community Project
Michael Derks has extensive experience in operations management and security consulting, currently serving as Operations Manager at Techno Metal Post since November 2021 and as Security Management Consultant at MANAGEMENT SECURITY SOLUTIONS LIMITED since November 2017. In addition to these roles, Michael has actively contributed as a Graduate, Mentor, and Volunteer at Warriors' Ascent, a Veterans Outreach Volunteer with the Veterans Community Project, and held various law enforcement positions, including Reserve Police Officer with the Garden City Missouri Police Department and the Lake Winnabago Police Department. Additional experiences include roles in sales and firearms instruction at BlueSteel Guns & Ammo, operations and security coordination at Hope Faith Ministries, and truck driving with LAZER-PIPES SERVICES, INC. Michael holds education from the Kansas City Missouri Regional Police Academy and the National Law Enforcement Training Center, specializing in law enforcement, crisis intervention, and community policing.
Veterans Community Project
Veterans Community Project (VCP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending Veteran homelessness by providing transitional-housing, wrap-around support services, and emergency assistance. Headquartered in Kansas City, MO, VCP uses Kansas City as the blueprint for achieving similar success in its expansion to cities across the United States, with the long-term goal of eliminating Veteran homelessness nationwide. VCP is a team of connectors, feelers, and doers on a mission to help our kin, our kind. We move with swift, bold action, always motivated to serve with compassion. We took an oath to serve all who served us by dedicating our time and careers to eradicating Veteran homelessness in Kansas City.
