Senior-vice Commander at Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)

Shawn Simmons MS is currently serving as the Placer County VAC Chairman at Placer County Veterans Advisory Council. Alongside this role, Shawn is an Associate at Non Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA). In addition, Shawn holds the title of Senior-Vice Commander at Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and 1st Vice-Commander at American Legion Post 1. Having retired from the US Air Force Reserve as a KC-10 Extender In-Flight Refueling Instructor, Shawn also worked at CDCR for 25 years, with various roles including Field Parole Unit Supervisor, Parole Planning & Placement Supervisor, and Policy & Procedures Unit Supervisor. Shawn holds a Master of Science degree in Emergency Response Administration from California State University, Long Beach.
