Ashley Steele has a diverse work experience in the veterinary and community outreach fields. Ashley is the Founder & Director of VetCORE at Shelter for Outcasts, Unusuals, and the Lost An Animal Rescue (SOUL), where they lead a student-driven community outreach program that provides veterinary care for people experiencing homelessness. Ashley also serves as the Vice President of the Veterinary Business Management Association and has held leadership roles in various organizations such as Street Medicine Phoenix and Health Outreach through Medicine & Education (H.O.M.E.). Additionally, they have worked as a Research Assistant at Midwestern University and as a Veterinary Assistant at VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital & Emergency Center. Ashley's experience also includes being an Activities Coordinator for the Student Chapter of the Women's Veterinary Leadership Development Initiative (SCWVLDI) at Arizona State University, where they organized educational events and workshops. Ashley started their career as a Pre-Veterinary Intern at Midwestern University and as a Communication Assessment & Learning Lab Mentor at Arizona State University.
Ashley Steele attended Ironwood High School from 2011 to 2015, where they completed their high school education. Following this, from 2017 to 2020, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology (Pre-Veterinary Medicine) at Arizona State University. Currently, from 2021 to 2025, Ashley is a DVM Candidate at Midwestern University, where they are working towards a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
