Aoife Reid has a diverse work experience in the veterinary field. Aoife started their career as a Veterinary Surgeon at Des Groome Veterinary in 2001 and worked there until 2003. Aoife then worked at The Barn Veterinary Practice from 2003 to 2005 and Fromus Vet group from 2005 to 2006. Aoife joined Dublin Animal Emergency Clinic as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2006 and stayed until 2007. In the same year, they also worked as a Veterinary Surgeon at Black Dragon Emergency Clinic and Worldwide Veterinary Service. Aoife joined Vets Now in 2009 as a Locum Veterinary Surgeon and later became a Senior Veterinary Surgeon in 2010. From 2011 to 2013, they served as a District Senior Veterinary Surgeon and then as the Head of Clinical Operations (maternity cover) from 2013 to 2014. Aoife continued to progress in Vets Now and became the Head of Edge Programmes in 2014. Currently, they are holding the position of Head of Edge Programmes and Clinical Career Progression at Vets Now. Alongside their work at Vets Now, Aoife also worked as a Veterinary Surgeon at Pet Blood Bank UK since 2010. Aoife has also shared their knowledge and expertise as a Guest Lecturer at BSAVA (British Small Animal Veterinary Association) since 2017 and at the University of Surrey from 2017 to 2022.

- Between 2009 and 2013, Aoife pursued a Cert AVP (ECC) in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care at the Royal Veterinary College.
- From 1996 to 2001, Aoife attended University College Dublin and obtained an MVB degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Aoife Reid has additional certifications, including being a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators, being an Advanced Practitioner in ECC through the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), and being an FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Authority). Additionally, Aoife is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) with the title of MRCVS, obtained in July 2003. In the future, Aoife intends to obtain the FRCVS title from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and become a member of the RCVS in 2023.
