Gordon Stevenson has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to 2022. In 2007, they completed an 8 week work placement as an Intern at Genzyme, where they worked in the manufacturing division and focussed on database and ASP . NET programming. From 2008 to 2012, they were a DPhil Biomedical Engineering Student at the University of Oxford, where they developed and built new medical image analysis tools for investigating placental function in early pregnancy. In 2012, they became a Research Scientist at Mirada Medical. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Computer Science Research Associate at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where they processed and analysed time-series data from clinical monitoring of preterm infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. From 2015 to 2022, they have served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales, where they have led the inception, experimentation and offline processing of data acquired in a large animal study for validation of a non-invasive 3D ultrasound-based imaging measure of perfusion versus fluorescent microspheres. Additionally, they have forged the establishment of new links between pre-clinical imaging, biomedical and mechanical engineering groups with their clinical research team. Currently, they are a Machine Learning Engineer at Vexev.

Gordon Stevenson obtained a DPhil in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Oxford between 2008 and 2011, a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science & Physiology (Neuroinformatics) from the University of Glasgow between 2004 and 2008, and an Advanced Higher in Physics; Computer Science & Maths with Statistics from George Watson's College between 1998 and 2004.
