Maohua Lu

Maohua Lu is currently the CTO and Co-Founder at Veza. Prior to this, Maohua was a Senior Staff Engineer at Rubrik, Inc. from February 2018 to January 2020. Before Rubrik, Maohua was the Technical Director at Datos IO, Inc. from June 2014 to February 2018 where they were the 1st Founding engineer and built the foundation of the company from Day 1. At Datos IO, Maohua led the design of the overall architecture of Datos IO software as well as the fault-tolerant distributed systems backend. Maohua was also the liaison of customer success. From August 2010 to May 2014, Maohua worked as a Research Staff Member in the Storage group at IBM. Prior to IBM, Maohua was a Technical Intern at Symantec Research Lab from June 2008 to January 2009 where they developed optimization techniques to synchronize memory states of virtual machines for fault tolerance and prototyped a virtual appliance to instrument other virtual machines by leveraging VMSafe APIs. Maohua has also been a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University from September 2004 to May 2005.

Maohua Lu received their Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Stony Brook University. Maohua also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University. In addition, they have received certification from DataStax in Cassandra Developer Certificate and MongoDB, Inc. in MongoDB Developer Certificate.
