Obi Chimbo

Obi Chimbo has an extensive work experience in the financial industry. Obi currently holds the position of Head Risk Management and Compliance at VFD Group Plc since September 2020. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Risk Officer at Nova Merchant Bank Ltd. from March 2018 to September 2020.

Before joining Nova Merchant Bank, Obi Chimbo spent several years at Access Bank. From November 2014 to March 2018, they served as the Head of Market and Liquidity Risk Management, where they oversaw compliance with risk policies and procedures across various subsidiaries. Obi also played a key role in implementing efficiency improvements and ensuring adherence to risk limits.

During their tenure at Access Bank, Obi Chimbo held multiple roles, including Head of Market Risk Management for Subsidiaries from March 2011 to November 2014. In addition, they served as the Branch Services Head, where they led a service improvement process and developed strategies to enhance customer service. Obi also worked as a Reconciliation Officer, handling GL issues investigations and monitoring the bank's nostro accounts.

With their diverse experience in risk management, compliance, and customer service, Obi Chimbo has developed a strong skill set that makes him a valuable asset in the financial industry.

Obi Chimbo completed a Bachelor of Science (BSC) degree in Mathematics from the University of Ibadan from 1995 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a Masters of Science (MSC) degree in Economics from the same university, graduating in 2002.
