Karen N. Singh (chair) has over 15 years of strategic and operational policy experience including over 10 years with Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Karen has worked in both policy and operational divisions and her experience spans the spectrum of health from acute care to community care and public health. Ms. Singh has also developed provincial programs such as the Low Income Dental program now known as Healthy Smiles and implemented programs such as the Convalescent Care program.
Karen continues this work across the health and social services through her consulting work. Karen has worked with various organizations across the continuum of care including international, federal, provincial and local agencies from providers, associations, regulatory bodies and patient groups. Her projects range from strategic planning, developing business plans and facilitation.
Her strong commitment to community service began as a high school student volunteering with various organizations including the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and more recently with the York Region Children Aids Society Board (2009-2016).
Karen has her Masters of Health Sciences from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science degree from Queens University. However, her most challenging job is mom to her teenage son. Karen joined the Board in 2016.
