Hil Richardson

Hil Richardson joined Virginia Housing in 1994 as Finance Manager, and was promoted to Director of Multifamily Housing in 2013, and to Managing Director of Capital Markets in 2017. Since January 1, 2022, he has served as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the company, Hil was an analyst at the Virginia State Corporation Commission’s Bureau of Insurance.

Hil relishes his involvement with Virginia Housing because it affords him the rare opportunity to apply a commercial lending model to a public enterprise that supports affordable housing. He finds that the true strength lies in the lending, subsidy and grant programs, as well as the engagement with a wide variety of partners throughout the Commonwealth that help them to leverage those strengths.

Hil earned a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
