Michael Acosta

Michael Acosta is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in commercial planning, revenue management, and pricing within the rail and airline industries. Since November 2014, Michael has served as the Chief Commercial Officer and Vice-President Commercial at VIA Rail Canada, where responsibilities include network planning, capacity distribution, and revenue optimization, contributing to significant revenue and passenger growth. Prior to this role, Michael held various positions at VIA Rail, including Director of Revenue Management and Pricing, and has also worked as a Revenue Management Consultant. Michael's expertise extends to international consulting with Sabre and market management at Air Canada. Michael is a recognized speaker and facilitator at industry conferences, such as the World Rail Festival and the Terrapinn Rail Revenue Conference, sharing insights on revenue optimization and network planning best practices. Michael holds a degree in Arts, specializing in Political Science, from the University of Alberta.
