Amirmehdi S.

Amirmehdi S. has a diverse range of work experience in the field of data science and machine learning. In 2017, they worked as a Software Developer at Balute, where they developed an Android app for learning electronic instruments. In 2018, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo, focusing on deep learning techniques for Farsi context resolution in chatbots. Amirmehdi also worked as a Full Stack Developer (ML Stream) at PerkinElmer, Inc., where they developed deep neural networks for predicting clinical outcomes from cancer genomic profiles. In 2019, Amirmehdi interned as a Data Scientist at both BEACON | MindBeacon Group and Scribd. In 2020, they joined Huawei as a Machine Learning Researcher (Intern). Currently, they are working as a Data Scientist at Viaduct, starting in 2021. In addition to their professional experience, Amirmehdi was the Founder and President of the UW Side Project Club, where they supervised teams and managed various projects.

Amirmehdi S. completed their high school education at Jean Vanier Catholic High School from 2013 to 2016. Amirmehdi then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Statistics at the University of Waterloo from 2016 to 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Amirmehdi S. obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge in the field. In March 2019, they completed the "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" course from Coursera. A few months later, in May 2019, they obtained a certification in "Convolutional Neural Networks" also from Coursera. In the following year, in March 2019, they completed the "Natural Language Processing: From Beginner to Expert" course offered by Commonlounge (Compose Labs). Amirmehdi'smost recent certification was in February 2020, where they completed the "Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning" course from Coursera.
