Shamil Kashmeri

Shamil Kashmeri has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2015. From 2015 to 2017, they were a Full Stack Developer at Pennock Idea Hub, where they were responsible for redesigning and implementing a standards compliant site, setting up and deploying Linux servers, and setting up and maintaining LAMP servers. In 2017, they were a Sr. DevOps Engineer at Stagwell Technologies on a short-term contract, and an Associate Consultant, Application Delivery at Sourced Group. Shamil was also a DevOps Engineer - CI/CD at Leonardo Worldwide Corporation in 2016, where they were responsible for planning and executing major and minor releases for all applications, providing insight and assisting in creating branching strategies for git repositories, and transitioning to modern deployments using modern CI/CD technologies. In 2015, they were a Full Stack Web Developer at Inspira Financial, where they were responsible for designing and developing a customized solution for Inspira Financials IR presence, integrating a custom built CMS on the backend, and performing sysadmin duties as needed on the server. From 2018 to 2021, Shamil worked at Viafoura, first as a DevOps, then as a Senior SRE, and finally as the Director, SRE. In 2020, they also worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Paramount Commerce.

Shamil Kashmeri attended George Brown College from 2000-2003, where they obtained a Computer Systems Technician degree in Computer Programming, C/C++. From 1994-1997, they attended Carleton University, studying Political Science and Government. Shamil also attended Jarvis CI, however no degree or field of study was obtained. In addition to their education history, Shamil has obtained three additional certifications: AWS Business Professional and AWS Technical Professional from Amazon Web Services in 2017, and a Certified SAFe 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2018.
