Portia Maddick is a highly skilled scientist with extensive experience in various fields of biomedical research. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Vianautis since February 2024, Portia previously held the position of Scientist II on the Ophthalmology Team at Mogrify, where significant contributions included validating a cell reprogramming strategy for retinal epithelial cells and investigating fibroblast-to-alveolar epithelial cell reprogramming for pulmonary fibrosis therapy. Prior to this, Portia acted as a Senior Technician at Cardiff University, conducting research on complement immunity in Alzheimer's disease within Professor Paul Morgan's group, and as a Research Associate at the University of Plymouth, focusing on stem cell activation and cancer biology. Portia's early career included roles in laboratory and writing positions, alongside educational credentials that include a PhD in Stem Cell Biology and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.
