Nicolae Cotanis

Nicolae Cotanis is an accomplished telecom technology consultant with extensive experience in mobile communications and network engineering. Currently serving at OneWeb since 2018, Nicolae's work involves scheduling, QoS architecture, and developing technical requirements for various cellular backhaul use cases, alongside product catalog management and 5G migration paths. Previously, Nicolae held senior positions at Viavi Solutions, leading the development of LTE predictive self-organizing networks and securing new patents. As Chief Technology Officer at Reverb Networks, Nicolae directed the architecture and development of advanced SON technologies. With prior experience at LightSquared Communications and TerreStar Networks, Nicolae has contributed to significant projects in 4G/LTE implementations and satellite network integration. Academic roles include professorships at George Washington University and University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, along with a Ph.D. in Mobile Communications from University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest.
