Arne Defauw

Arne Defauw is a seasoned professional in the fields of bioinformatics and machine learning, currently working as a Bioinformatician at VIB since March 2023. Prior to this role, Arne served as a Machine Learning Engineer at CrossLang from February 2018 to March 2023, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UZ Brussel from April 2017 to January 2018. Arne's experience also includes a position as a Credit Risk Manager at KBC Bank & Verzekering from June 2015 to April 2017 and a PhD Researcher role at Ghent University from March 2011 to February 2015. Arne earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from Ghent University in 2015 and a Master's degree in Mathematics from the same institution in 2010.
