Thomas Herman

Thomas Herman is a Fermentation Technologist at VIB since September 2022, previously serving as Protein Core Senior. Prior experience includes a role as a Bioprocess Engineer at Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant from November 2021 to September 2022, and positions as Senior Scientist and Scientist at Those Vegan Cowboys between January 2020 and November 2021. From August 2010 to January 2020, Thomas Herman worked at Oxyrane Belgium nv as a Scientist in Downstream Processing. Academic background includes a Master of Industrial Sciences in Biochemistry from HOGENT (2005-2010), and completion of a master thesis on fermentation optimization at VIB under the supervision of Ir. Jurgen Haustraete.
