Alok Tayi, PhD has an extensive work experience in various industries related to the life sciences and technology sectors. Alok is currently the Founder and CEO of Vibe Bio, a company that focuses on unknown and undiscovered bacteria. Prior to that, they founded and served as the Host of Biotech2050, a think tank that analyzes disruptions in the life sciences industry over the next 50 years.

From 2019 to 2021, Alok was the Vice President of Life Sciences at Egnyte, a company specializing in data management and security. Alok was also a Board Member at Pistoia Alliance, Inc., which is an organization that drives collaboration and innovation in the life sciences industry.

Before their executive roles, Alok was the CEO and Founder of TetraScience, an Internet-of-Things platform for scientific research and development. Alok also worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Harvard University in the Whitesides Laboratory, focusing on energy, human health, and manufacturing problems.

Alok's earlier experiences include being a Co-Founder and Chief Strategist at PreScouter, Inc., and a JSPS Fellow and Visiting Scholar at the University of Tokyo. Alok pursued their PhD in Material Science & Engineering at Northwestern University, researching self-assembly and the applications of molecules and materials in energy, chemistry, and medicine. Before their doctoral studies, Alok worked as a Research Intern at Hewlett-Packard.

Alok Tayi earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Materials Science from Cornell University, attending from 2002 to 2006. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Materials Science at Northwestern University, where they studied from 2006 to 2012.
