SVP Culture And Leadership Development at Vibrant Credit Union

Jon Sexton, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in leadership development, college administration, and student affairs. Jon is currently the SVP of Culture and Leadership Development at Vibrant Credit Union, where they focus on executive coaching, leadership development, and improving employee engagement. Jon is also the Founder of Sexton Leadership, a company dedicated to team and leadership development. In the past, they have served as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life and Orientation at Grinnell College, and as the Director of Orientation Services at The University of Iowa, where they oversaw orientation programming and implemented data-informed program improvements. Throughout their career, Jon has demonstrated a passion for empowering individuals and building strong team cultures.

Jon Sexton, PhD, obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Iowa, where they studied from 2009 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their MA in Student Development in Postsecondary Education at the University of Iowa from 2004 to 2006. Jon began their academic journey at Central College, earning a BA in Psychology from 2000 to 2004.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Jon has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2016, they became a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach through Gallup. Jon further expanded their expertise with the Hogan Assessment Systems, earning the Hogan Certified credential in 2022. Recently, in 2023, they obtained the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certification from the International Coaching Federation. Furthermore, in 2015, Jon obtained the Mental Health First Aid certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health.
