James Smith

Grasping at Vicarious

James attended University of California, San Diego for a B.S. in Computer Engineering and M.S. in Intelligent Systems, Robotics and Controls. In his research during his master’s program, he worked with the Cognitive Robotics Lab on developing new methods for grasping novel objects using vision. James previously worked on embedded software at internships at Hughes Network Systems and SpaceX.

When he’s not working with robots, James enjoys playing and watching basketball, listening to music and watching movies.
