Chris King

Chris King has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Starting in 2012, they worked as a Mechanical Product Design Engineer at Owen Mumford Ltd, where they led a team in designing blood capillary devices for medical products. Chris then worked as a Freelance Consultant at PDD Group Ltd from February 2013 to August 2013. Following that, they freelanced as a Design Engineer at OPD, focusing on concept generation sketching and CAD design.

In November 2013, Chris worked as a Freelance Design Engineer for GRM Consulting Ltd, specializing in Solidworks surfacing for train seat back designs. Chris also had a client-facing role and managed prototype batch production runs. From January 2013 to 2014, they established their own company, CKING DESIGNS LTD, where they worked as a Freelance Design Engineer and Director.

Chris joined Dyson in February 2014 as a Senior Design Engineer, responsible for design development. Chris then moved to SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics in December 2015 as a Senior Product Design Engineer and Innovation Ambassador, working on brands like Clearblue. In this role, they contributed to product design and spearheaded innovation initiatives until September 2020.

After leaving SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics, they freelanced as a Senior Design Engineer from September 2020 to October 2021 before joining Vicon in November 2021 as a Senior Design Engineer. Additionally, from 2016, Chris also worked as a Freelance Illustrator, focusing on publishing coloring books.

Chris King completed their education in a chronological manner. From 1998 to 2002, they attended London South Bank University, where they obtained a degree in Engineering Product Design with a focus on Product Design and Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Integrated Industrial Design at Brunel University London from 2002 to 2004. Their field of study during their master's program was Industrial and Product Design.
