Thomas Preiss

Thomas Preiss is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as Director of the ANU Shine-Dalgarno Centre for RNA Innovation and Professor of RNA Biology at The Australian National University since 2011. Preiss leads a multidisciplinary research centre and runs a group focused on RNA regulation during gene expression. With a notable history in RNA research and strong leadership credentials, Preiss has held significant roles including Co-Head of the Division of Genome Science and Cancer at JCSMR, Adjunct Group Leader at EMBL Australia, and Laboratory Head at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. Preiss's educational background includes a PhD in Molecular Biology from Newcastle University and a Habilitation at the Medical Faculty of the Universität Heidelberg.
