Jan Sokol

Jan Sokol is a seasoned Senior Site Reliability Engineer with extensive experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure management. Currently at VictoriaMetrics since April 2025, Jan has previously worked as a Senior SRE for Swiss Re, where responsibilities included developing a Metrics as a Service platform using open-source technologies. Prior to that, Jan served as a Cloud Architect at Revolgy, designing secure banking applications on AWS and Kubernetes. Additional roles include IT Infrastructure Architect for Deutsche Börse, where a monitoring solution for OpenShift was built, and involvement in DevOps and backend infrastructure work across various organizations. Jan holds multiple master's degrees in Computer Science from prominent institutions, including Czech Technical University in Prague and National Cheng Kung University, complemented by a bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
