Mark Birrell Am

Mark Birrell AM has a strong and diverse work experience. Mark is currently a member of the Management Board at the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), representing business at the international level. Prior to this, Mark served as the President and Board member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) from 2021 onward. Mark also held the position of Non-Executive Director at Transurban since 2018.

In the past, Mark served as the President of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was a board member from 2007 to 2018. Mark was the Chairman of PostSuper Pty Ltd, the independent Chairman of Australia Post Superannuation Scheme, and a member of the Investment Committee from 2013 to 2022.

Furthermore, Mark has contributed to various organizations such as the Australian Payments Council, Regis Healthcare Limited, Infrastructure Australia, Port of Melbourne Corporation, and Citywide, where they held positions as Chairman and Non-Executive Director. Notably, they served as the Chairman of Infrastructure Australia from April 2014 to August 2017.

Mark Birrell AM has a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University. Mark is also admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia. Mark obtained this certification in 1983 from the Supreme Court of Victoria.
