Erik Andresen

Erik Andresen has extensive work experience in the field of information security and compliance. Erik currently holds the position of Lead Security Analyst at Victoria's Secret since October 2021. Prior to this, Erik worked at General Motors for nearly a decade, starting as a Global GM Product Development Information Security and Compliance Officer in January 2013. Erik held various roles at General Motors, including Incident Handler, Cyber Defense Incident Coordination Manager, and Client Level 2 Incident Team Manager, among others.

Before joining General Motors, Erik was a Global Information Security and Compliance Officer at Hewlett Packard Company from January 2007 to January 2013. Erik also worked at General Motors Corporation as an Information Security Manager and later as a Site Manager. Erik began their career at Premier Systems Integrators as a Technical Consultant and also gained experience as a Systems Integrator in the State Government Division.

Additionally, Erik has experience in independent Bitcoin mining, where they mined cryptocurrency, bought and sold mining hardware, and wrote about their experiences in a blog. Erik Andresen attended Oakland Community College from 2006 to 2009, where they pursued a degree in Business Administration. Erik obtained several certifications throughout their career, including the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from Global Information Assurance Certification in April 2018, the Certified Incident Handling Engineer from Mile2 in 2015, the CISSP from (ISC)² in 2007, and certifications in HP OpenView Network Node Manager and MCSE from HP and Microsoft respectively in 2000.
