John Capps

John Capps has over 15 years of work experience in the technology industry. John began their career in 2005 as an Assistant Payroll Accountant at Granite Construction. In 2006, they joined the US Army as a System Administrator. In 2012, they moved to Booz Allen Hamilton as a System Administrator, where they maintained and developed cloud infrastructure. In 2014, they joined KoolSpan as a Sr. Systems Architect and Millennial Media as a System Engineer. In 2015, they joined OptioLabs, Inc. as a Sr. DevOps Manager, where they built a secure AWS environment from the ground up. In 2017, they joined Exertis Ztorm AB as a DevOps Engineer, where they migrated all infrastructure and applications running in Co-location to AWS. In 2019, they joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Sr. Solutions Architect and Sr. DevOps Consultant. John then moved to VIDA Digital Identity in 2022 as the Vice President of Infrastructure.

John Capps has a varied educational background. John attended ADET Europe from 2010 to 2012, University of Maryland Global Campus from 2008 to 2011 where they studied Management Information Systems, General, United States Army TRADOC from 2006 to 2008, and Heald Business College from 2004 to 2005 where they earned an A.A.S in Business Administration. Additionally, they have obtained four certifications, including Red Hat Certified System Administrator from Red Hat in October 2013, Amazon Web Services DevOps Engineer - Professional and Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2019, and Security + from CompTIA in July 2012.
