Non-financial Risk Director at VidaCaixa

João Carvalho has a diverse work experience in risk management and actuarial services. João started their career at Moranguinhos school in Rio de Janeiro as a Mathematics Teacher during an exchange program. João then worked at EY as an Advisory FS Risk in Actuarial Services before joining Banco BPI as an Internal Audit - Actuary expert. At Banco BPI, they led an actuarial review of the defined benefit pension fund. Currently, they are employed at VidaCaixa as a Non-Financial Risk Director, where they previously worked as an Enterprise Risk Analyst. In this role, they coordinated strategic risk assessments and collected input from key stakeholders.

João Carvalho's education history includes a Master's degree in Actuarial Science from ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, which they obtained from 2014 to 2017. João also holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics to Economics and Management from the same institution, completed from 2010 to 2014. In addition, they were a student member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries from 2018 to 2019. Furthermore, João Carvalho pursued a program in Economics at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 2012 and 2013, as part of the Santander universities initiative. Most recently, in 2022, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for Data Analytics.
