Lyubomir Uzunov has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in different companies. Lyubomir started their career as a Legislative Fellow in the United States Congress, where they prepared analyses of proposed legislation and wrote speeches for a Representative.
Lyubomir then worked as a Research Program Manager at the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition, where they established a data partnership between academia and industry to map the innovation ecosystem in Illinois. This effort resulted in the publication of the widely recognized Illinois Innovation Ecosystem report.
Uzunov then joined Black Stone IP, LLC as a Business Development Lead, where they developed a sourcing strategy and originated key clients, contributing to the acquisition of the firm by Houlihan Lokey.
At Houlihan Lokey, they worked as a Tech+IP Advisory, conducting due diligence on companies, developing presentations for M&A and financing assignments, and building financial models.
Lyubomir later co-founded and served as the Vice President of EquIP Advisors LLC, an IP advisory and transactions boutique that was subsequently acquired by Stout Risius Ross (Stout). In this role, they built relationships with investment banks and converted former client relationships into paid projects.
After the acquisition, Uzunov became the Vice President at Stout, where they originated and executed transactional projects, including M&A, capital raise, royalty buyout, and asset sale projects for technology clients. Lyubomir successfully grew revenues by 100% and 50% year-over-year through new client acquisition.
Lyubomir also worked as an Advisor at Youneeq AI, providing expertise in applying AI to personalize product recommendations on ecommerce websites. Lyubomir advised the company on go-to-market strategy and IP matters.
Currently, Uzunov holds the position of Vice President of Acquisitions and Partnerships at VideoLabs, Inc.

Lyubomir Uzunov has a diverse education history. Lyubomir obtained a Master of Philosophy/All But Dissertation (M.Phil/ABD) degree from the University of Chicago between 2005 and 2010. In 2014 and 2015, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Intellectual Property Management and Markets from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. Additionally, they achieved a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with First Class Honors (summa cum laude) from Victoria University of Wellington from 2000 to 2004. Lyubomir has also earned a Certificate in Financial Planning and Analysis, with a focus on Accounting and Finance, from UC Berkeley Extension, starting in 2023.
