Matthew York

Matt York has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Matt served as the Executive Director at illuminAid (formerly OMPT), where they focused on educating the world's poorest billion people using low-cost technology. In this role, they aimed to equip 10 million teachers with portable media players to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Before this, they founded Videomaker Inc. in 1984 and held the positions of Publisher, Editor, and CEO. Videomaker Inc. aimed to help people improve their video-making skills. Prior to that, they served as the President of Northwest Media Company from 1979 to 1984.

Matt York attended Rutgers University from 1975 to 1978, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
