Tuari Bigknife has extensive work experience as an attorney. Tuari started their career as an Attorney with Bourhis, Wolfson & Schlichtmann in 1998 and then moved on to Grant & Zeko, APC in 1999. Tuari worked there until 2000 and then joined Morison-Knox Holden & Prough, LLP as an Attorney until 2003. Following that, they returned to Grant & Zeko, APC as an Attorney from 2003 to 2007. Tuari then joined Viejas Office of Legal Affairs and held multiple roles including Senior Business Attorney from 2007 to 2009, Deputy General Counsel from 2009 to 2012, and General Counsel from 2012 to 2012. Tuari then played a significant role in Viejas Casino & Resort as Interim CEO from 2010 to 2010 and Chief Legal Officer from 2010 to the present. Lastly, they joined the Office of the Attorney General, Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in 2013 as the Attorney General, a position they currently hold.
Tuari Bigknife completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from UC Irvine between 1991 and 1995. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law, graduating between 1995 and 1998.
