Marcus Thiele

Marcus Thiele is a highly experienced professional in the field of digital technology and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as Competence Lead for Digital Twin at Viessmann since February 2023, Marcus previously held the position of Head of the "Digital Production Twin" department at Fraunhofer-Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Umformtechnik IWU from July 2021 to February 2023. Prior to that, from November 2011 to March 2021, Marcus was the Head of the thermomechanics lab and an Associate Research Engineer at Technische Universität Dresden. Marcus holds a Dr.-Ing. in Energy Technology and Material Sciences, awarded by Technische Universität Dresden from September 2015 to February 2020, as well as a Dipl.-Ing. in Applied Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, completed in 2011.
