Michael J. Cieslewicz

Dr. Michael J. Cieslewicz serves as Vice President, Project Management and Operations for Vigeo, where he oversees the development of the company’s lead pipeline asset, coordinates relationships with clinical trial sites, manages Vigeo’s operations, and was responsible for the development and submission of its first IND application. To this role, he brings more than 16 years of experience in drug and vaccine development. Prior to joining Vigeo in 2016, Dr. Cieslewicz led cross-functional teams as a senior project manager at the Shire and at Merrimack Pharmaceuticals. Previously, he held several research positions with the vaccines group of Novartis and served as principal investigator in an extramurally funded laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Cieslewicz completed a post-doctoral fellowship in microbiology and biochemistry at the Channing Laboratory of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, as well as a fellowship in biochemical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his Ph.D. in pathobiology and microbiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
