David Coppeans

David Coppeans (Chopper) is Chief Operating Officer and joined Vigilant Health in 2021. From 2019 through 2021, David led Amedisys’ personal care line of business servicing 9,750 clients and over 2.4 million hours annually in Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Florida as well as built out strategic and innovation initiatives including its personal care network and value-based programming. Prior to Amedisys, Mr. Coppeans co-founded and joined Contessa Health, a leader in hospital-at-home programming, as Chief Operating Officer in 2015.

Prior to Contessa Health, Mr. Coppeans acquired and joined Aid & Assist at Home as the Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Under his ownership, Aid & Assist expanded to become a statewide provider of homecare in Tennessee with nine offices and over 1,000 home health aides servicing all 95 counties in the state before its sale to Addus Healthcare (NASDAQ: ADUS) in 2014. Prior to Aid & Assist, David was a Vice President in Avondale Partner’s investment banking group. David focused on executing mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory services for health care services clients. During his investment banking career, he completed transactions having an aggregate value of more than $3.0 billion. David received both his Bachelor of Science and MBA from Vanderbilt University.
