Katya Bauval has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with extensive roles in sales and marketing. Katya started their career as a Sales Executive at STARWOOD ALFONSO XIII HOTEL COMPANY SA in 1993 and then moved on to become a Sales Manager at The St. Regis Washington DC in 1996. In 1998, they joined Hôtel de la Cité as the Director of Sales and Marketing, a position they held for three years before transitioning to Hotel Quinta do Lago as their Director of Sales and Marketing. From 1998 to 2008, they served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Orient-Express. In 2004, they joined Lapa Palace Hotel as their Director of Sales and Marketing, and later moved to VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa in 2009 as the Executive Director of Sales and Marketing. Recently, in 2016, they became a Sales Advisory Board Member for The Leading Hotels of the World.
Katya Bauval attended Sunny View School from 1986 to 1989, where they completed their O and A Levels in Maths, Spanish, and French. From 1989 to 1993, they attended the University of Kent, earning a BSc in European Management Science with French. In 1991, they studied at Université Jean Moulin (Lyon III) for a year, completing their Licence AES in Administration Economique et Sociale. In 2001, they briefly attended Cornell University, focusing on Hotel Yield Management and earning a PHP.
