Jennifer Nelson serves as the Conservation Commissioner for the Village of Brookfield, Illinois, since June 2023, while also holding the position of Program Director at Seven Generations Ahead since 2009, where responsibilities include directing programs focused on reducing food waste and promoting food scrap recycling. Nelson has extensive experience in sustainability and public health, having previously served as a Senior Program Manager and Program Manager, consulting with communities and organizations to implement zero waste strategies. With a background in health management at Access Community Health Network and Sinai Health System, as well as founding the Illinois Food Scrap Coalition, Nelson has a strong track record of advancing public health and sustainability initiatives. Jennifer Nelson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Grinnell College in 1992.
