Brian Simpson has a diverse work experience in the field of fire investigations and emergency services. Brian currently works as a Fire Investigator at DONAN since April 2022. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at the Village of Carpentersville, where they held various roles including Battalion Chief, Director of Fire Investigations, Fire Lieutenant, and Firefighter/Paramedic. Brian also served as a Fire Investigator and Firefighter/Paramedic on a part-time basis. Before joining the Village of Carpentersville, Brian worked as a part-time Firefighter/Paramedic at the Pingree Grove Fire Protection District.

Brian Simpson, CFO and MO, has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Fire Administration/Fire Investigation from Columbia Southern University. Brian also holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Fire Science from McHenry County College. In addition to their formal education, Brian has obtained several certifications in the field of fire investigation. Specifically, they have obtained the CFEI (Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator) certification from the National Association of Fire Investigators in March 2018. Brian also holds the CFI (Certified Fire Investigator) certification, including the Vehicle Designation, from the International Association of Arson Investigators, obtained in 2018. Furthermore, Brian has received the Evidence Collection Technician certification from the International Association of Arson Investigators in July 2020.
