David P. has extensive experience in the field of fire and emergency services. David started their career in 1989 as a Paid-On-Call/EMT-A/Firefighter for the Lake Zurich Fire & Rescue Department. From there, they worked their way up through various roles including Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic, and EMS Coordinator.

In 2013, David became a Fire Captain, taking on responsibilities such as managing staffing and coordinating firefighting activities. David then transitioned to the role of Fire Division Chief - Operations in 2018, where they developed goals and policies, prepared budgets, and oversaw staff development.

In 2019, David was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief, serving as the second-in-command and providing leadership and guidance to the department. Most recently, they held the position of Fire Chief for the Village of Lake Zurich, where they managed daily operations and developed department policies.

Throughout their career, David has demonstrated excellent management skills, including personnel and equipment management, budgeting, and implementing new techniques and procedures. David has also been involved in training and education, both as a Contract Instructor for Advanced Life Support Services and as an Advisor for the Explorer Post 2.

David completed their Bachelor's Degree in 1990.

In 1989, they received the EMT-P certification from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
