Village of Libertyville
Donna Johnson serves as the Governing Council Chair at Advocate Aurora Health since January 2020 and as the Village President-Mayor of Libertyville since May 2021. Johnson has extensive experience in public service, previously holding the position of Village Trustee in Libertyville from April 2008 to September 2021, completing four terms as Senior Trustee. Additionally, Johnson has a longstanding career at Allstate, starting in 1987 as Counsel. Earlier legal experience includes serving as an Assistant States Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office from 1983 to 1987, where responsibilities included preparing and litigating cases. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law.

Village of Libertyville
The Village of Libertyville is located in Lake County, IL approximately 35 miles north of Chicago and 7 miles west of Lake Michigan. The Village is a non-home rule municipality governed by a President and board of six trustees. It employs 157 full-time employees and provides the following services: Administration, Community Development, Engineering, Public Works, Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Water, Sewer and Wastewater Treatment. The mission of the Village of Libertyville municipal organization is to provide quality services, programs and facilities in the most cost effective and efficient manner to all citizens of the community, to preserve Village history and tradition, to preserve resources for future generations, and to facilitate a partnership with all members of the community to make Libertyville a better place to live and work.
