Jay Parrott has extensive work experience in law enforcement. Jay began their career as a Co-Op Inspector with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 1988, where they worked until 1990. Jay then joined the City of Naperville as a Police Officer, serving from 1990 to 1992. Following this, they worked for the City of Evanston as Deputy Chief of Police for a remarkable 26 years, starting in 1992 and concluding in 2018. Since 2018, Jay has been working as the Chief of Police for the Village of Lincolnwood.
Jay Parrott obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University from 1986 to 1990. In 2005, they received a Certificate of Completion from Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command. In 2012, Jay completed the FBI National Academy - Session 250, earning a Certificate of Completion in Law Enforcement Operations. Jay furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence in Business Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law between 2014 and 2016.
