Melissa Darou

Melissa Darou, MA, is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in local government and consulting. As the Principal of Melissa Darou Communications & Creative since January 2018, Melissa specializes in strategic communications, translating complex information, and managing teams in demanding environments. Currently serving as a Communications Advisor for the Village of Lytton and as a Communications & Engagement Specialist for WCS Engagement + Planning, Melissa leads initiatives related to community engagement and capital projects, including the rebuilding efforts after the 2021 fire in Lytton. Previous roles include Senior Communications Associate at Monogram Communications and Project Lead at Royal Roads University, along with a decade as Senior Communications Officer for the Resort Municipality of Whistler. Melissa holds a BA in Professional Communication and an MA in Environmental Education and Communication from Royal Roads University.
