Village of Palatine
George Ruppert P.E. has extensive experience in civil engineering and management roles. Since October 2002, George has served as Village Engineer for the Village of Palatine, directing the operations of a modern engineering services division and overseeing professional, technical, and clerical personnel. Prior to this, George held various positions at MWH from March 1998 to October 2002, including Construction Coordinator, where responsibilities included inspecting civil construction projects and ensuring compliance with contract documents. Earlier in George's career, roles included Construction Inspector and Surveyor at Eagle Engineering and Aviation Boatswain's Mate in the US Navy, specializing in aircraft launching and recovery systems. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, earned between 1996 and 1998, along with prior education at Harper College from 1994 to 1996.

Palatine is a Village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is a northwestern residential suburb of Chicago. As of the 2011 census, the village had a total population of 68,858. Palatine operates under the Council-manager form of local government. Six councilmen are elected from their respective districts, while the entire village elects the Village Clerk and the Mayor. The council then hires a Village Manager to oversee the town's day-to-day operation. The current mayor is Jim Schwantz.
