John Kalmar

John Kalmar is an experienced management professional with a strong background in community development and urban planning. Currently serving as a Management Analyst in the Planning & Zoning Department of the Village of Palatine since July 2018, John Kalmar is responsible for zoning entitlement reviews, code enforcement inspections, and customer consultations. Prior roles include Interim Community Development Director for the Village of Fox Lake, IL, and Interim Assistant Village Manager for the Village of Winnetka, IL, where John Kalmar oversaw economic development and collaborated with various departments. John Kalmar's extensive experience in local government operations includes serving as Village Manager for the Village of Vernon Hills and Village Administrator for the Village of Hawthorn Woods. John Kalmar holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati.
