Liz Dechant

Liz DeChant, MPA, currently serves as the Assistant Director of Economic Development for the Village of Schaumburg since April 2025. Prior to this role, Liz worked as the Economic Development Coordinator for the Village of Winnetka from September 2019 to April 2025, where business development efforts included retention, expansion, and entrepreneurship development, alongside implementing the Village’s Downtown Master Plan. Earlier experience includes positions such as Principal Consultant at BlueGriffin Consulting, Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Urban Transportation Center, and various roles within the City of Chicago's Office of Tourism and Culture and North River Commission. Liz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Service and Community Development from Beloit College and a Master of Public Administration in Public Management and Local Governance from the University of Illinois Chicago.
