Shana Nys Dambrot

Shana Nys Dambrot is an established art critic and writer with extensive experience in the arts sector. Currently serving as an art critic for 13ThingsLA, Shana collaborates with Hijinx Arts’ Heidi Johnson to curate a weekly arts calendar featuring exhibitions and cultural highlights. In addition, Shana writes for Village Voice, focusing on exhibition reviews and artist profiles, and contributes to Artillery Magazine, Flaunt Magazine, and Palm Springs Life. From 2018 to 2024, Shana held the position of Arts Editor at LA Weekly, providing insights into the Los Angeles art scene. Other notable roles include writing for KCET's Artbound and serving as LA Editor for Whitehot Magazine. Shana holds degrees in Art History, Criticism, and Conservation, as well as in Art, French, and Film from Vassar College.
