Heini Kauppinen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Heini'smost recent role is as a Strategist & Lead Service Designer at Vincit, where they apply strategic design to solve business challenges and create sustainable businesses. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Service Designer at Motley Agency for three years. Heini has also held positions as a Service Designer at Digitalist Group & Network and Passi & Ripatti, where they were involved in designing experiences and service concepts. Before that, Heini worked as a Freelance Service Designer, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and volunteering in the field. Heini briefly returned to IBM Finland as a Senior Bid Manager/Project Manager after finishing their studies. During their time at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Heini worked as a Researcher and Service Designer, contributing to a project on open service innovation in smart cities. Heini also pursued an MBA in Service Design and Innovation during that time. Prior to that, they worked for IBM Finland in several roles, including Senior Bid Manager/Project Manager, Request for Service (RFS) Manager, Project Coordinator, and Process Coordinator. Earlier in their career, Heini gained experience as a System Planning & Design Assistant at Tapiola-Group and as a Team Leader and Training Coordinator at Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts.
Heini Kauppinen has a diverse education history. Heini started their higher education journey at the University of Jyväskylä, where they completed introductory studies in psychology before moving on to pursue a BBA in International Business at Haaga Institute Polytechnic from 2002 to 2006. In 1998, they completed basic studies in pedagogics at Turun yliopisto - University of Turku.
Heini's passion for design led their to pursue further education in this field. In 2013, they attended AEL to study visual communications, focusing on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Following that, they enrolled in Laurea University of Applied Sciences from 2014 to 2016, where they earned their Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Service Innovation and Design.
Continuing their pursuit of design, Heini joined Aalto University in 2016 to focus on Service Design and Design. During this period, they also participated in various courses at IBM Global Campus between 2006 and 2016.
Heini has further enhanced their knowledge and skills through additional certifications. In 2012, they obtained the Senior Bid Manager certification, and in 2010, they obtained the Project Manager certification. Heini also acquired several certifications in design-related fields from LinkedIn in 2016, including Agile Project Management, Developing Ideas and Design Concepts, UX Design Techniques: Creating Personas, User Experience Fundamentals for Web Design, Foundations of Design Research, Foundations of UX: Prototyping, and UX Design Techniques: Creating Scenarios and Storyboards.
