A long tenure at Liberty Computer Services began in July 1990, culminating in a retirement due to health issues. OBrien has held various consultant roles at companies such as Solutions Point of Kansas and Adaptive Solutions Group, focusing on automated testing and Java projects, and has contributed as a programmer for both US Army contractors and private firms.
