Stephen Walker

Stephen Walker has over two decades of experience in aviation safety and operations, primarily at Virgin Atlantic since February 2002, where roles have included Manager of Operational Security & Risk and Corporate Safety Manager for Ground Operations, Engineering, and Cargo. Stephen has played a key role in defining safety requirements for Ground Operations and Engineering while ensuring safety oversight of global aerodrome operations and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk management practices. Additional responsibilities have included conducting operational safety assessments, managing ground operations safety officers, and leading a temporary initiative for ramp operations at Heathrow Airport to address operational challenges. Prior experience includes positions at British Airways and BA CityFlyer, focusing on aircraft dispatch and ramp management. Stephen holds a BTEC in General Engineering from Tyne North Technical College.
